Wednesday Evening Meetings
After an opening hymn, this meeting gets underway with topical readings selected by the First Reader from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook.
This is followed by singing a hymn and praying the Lord’s Prayer together.
Those attending the meeting, both those new to Christian Science as well as those who have studied Christian Science for a long time, are then invited to share experiences, testimonies of healing, and remarks on Christian Science.
This provides an opportunity to hear how others are applying Christian Science to their daily lives and praying for their communities and the world.
The meeting is concluded by joining together in singing a hymn.
Young people of all faiths and backgrounds up to the age of 20 are welcome to attend Sunday School. Children learn about the Bible and how to use it at school, in sports and relationships with others.
Classes focus on the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the Lord’s Prayer. Gradually, through questions and answers adapted to each student’s needs, young people learn to grasp the spiritual ideas from the weekly Bible Lesson-Sermons read in church.
The uniqueness of every child is honored as they explore their own spirituality and discover God’s loving care on which they can rely in challenging situations.
Presently located in the front foyer of the church building, the Reading Room offers a full range of aids to Bible study and Christian Science literature for purchase for browsing.
Included are all the published writings of Mary Baker Eddy and many biographies covering how she discovered and founded Christian Science.
